Daddy
Love -
Rural Acoustic Folk, Rock-n-Roll &
Street Corner Blues. From love songs to the blues Daddy's
songs take a look at life and the colorful characters who pass through it with a
wry sense of humor. Daddy sings originals about Oklahoma life,
beat-up pickup trucks, fishin' with grampa, lost loves, empty
beers, waitin' at the train depot, being in love with Wonder Woman, hippie
chicks & red dirt girls ...and those damn 9-volt batteries!
"
I started into my
lead break, I was making that guitar scream, And then ^v^v^v^v, Ruined my
whole thing, Damn!
9 volt batt’ry, Messed up my guitar, Damn!
9 volt batt’ry, I was gonna be a star..."
- from Daddy's song Damn! 9 Volt Battery
Katie Mariah -
Katie Mariah is an Oklahoma native. She grew up performing in the symphony hall, little theaters and churches of her hometown, Enid. Since leaving home for New York City at 18, Katie Mariah’s been rambling, studying music and writing her own tunes. Now back in Oklahoma she figured it was time to start performing again. She’ll tell you in song what she’s been doing and where she’s been.
"Well the crops weren’t tall in the fields at all that summer, But the hot winds tore right through our young and tender hearts, Daddy’s dreams were scattered like the red dirt on our fields, So all our plans would slowly drift apart, That’s how I’ll remember you, For the rest of my life..."
- from Katie's song Summer Nights
Michael Bendure
-
Michael Bendure – A native Normanite, Michael refers to his style of music as “original acoustic soul-dump folk rock with a smidge of nostalgia.” A self-proclaimed spiritual sojourner, Michael uses music to seek out personal truths about religion, politics, family, faith and life experiences.
"Looking for the Holy Grail in every little thing leaves you feeling tired all the time. Looking in the mirror could reward you even more if you could see yourself through my own eyes." - from Michael’s song –
